Ika and Brubeck: Nationals Are a Huge Success
Petra Junehall, internationally recognized Leonberger judge and breeder took quite a liking to Ika, placing her right underneath Katie who has previously won the National Specialty twice! Petra's comments on her type, structure and movement were flattering! Ika was awarded an "Excellent" rating, the highest rating a Leonberger can receive in an LCA conformation match. Congratulations, Ika!
Petra awarded Brubeck 2nd place in a packed class with many, more mature leos. Hannah, 1st place in the class, went on to take Best of Opposite for the entire show! Petra gave flattering comments on the sheet:
"12 month bitch with excellent type and size and a beautiful, feminine head. Strong muzzle with scissor bite. Well shaped dark eyes. Very good stop, skull, and ears. Excellent neck and topline. Very well angulated with strong bones. Well developed in body with good feet and legs. Excellent croup and tail. Strong hocks. Sound mover... Excellent coat texture, color, and mask. Well presented in excellent condition with typical character."
Brubeck was awarded the "Very Promising" rating, the highest rating a judge can award a puppy. Brubeck was also very successful in the Puppy Sweeps match and the AKC match - never taking less than second place and even winning a little money. Petra commented during the photo shoot that Bru was a fantastic Leonberger and that, when she is fully mature, Bru will be a real joy to show. Thank you, Petra!
