About Us
We make our home in a small town in central North Carolina where we both teach in the public schools. Middle school technology students work with Mr. Townsend and band students work with Mrs. Townsend. While engaged and in college, we discovered Leonbergers, a rare breed at the time. We instantly fell in love with this fantastic breed.
Our first Leo, "Osa", jumpstarted our passion for Leonberger conformation and showing. Since taking a precious Leonberger puppy into our home in 1999, we have become involved in all aspects of dog ownership and breeding. We feel strongly about our commitment to the Leonberger breed. We participate in the national and regional clubs as well as take an active role in our local "dog" community. Our love of Leonbergers and commitment to the breed has made several long lasting friendships!

Our music backgrounds tend to show in everything we do! Sforzando is a musical term meaning "with sudden and large presence". We hope our Leonberger puppies will do just that in the hearts and minds of their new families. We strive to produce Leonbergers in keeping with the purpose of the breed's founder, have a strong interest in European lines, and want our Leos to make a splash whether they're in the breed ring, out for a walk, or joining someone's family.
